Manufactured Realities Photo Collage
For my final photography assignment, I decided on a concept rooted in the preservation of family history. As someone who loves genealogy and was first learning Photoshop at the time, this became a passion project that ultimately brought me closer to my family and honored those who came before me.
As time passes, pictures, documents, and other mementos are often forgotten and subsequently lost, taking their stories with them. Without intention, the people from which we came are slowly, yet permanently erased, which is portrayed in the level of transparency in each image. The best chance we have for preserving these stories for both ourselves and future generations is now.
